Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Career Portrait ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree, do not use the Service. We reserve the right to update these Terms at any time. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.

Service Description

Career Portrait is an AI-powered career analysis tool that processes your LinkedIn PDF or resume to generate:

  • Career archetype, DNA traits, and percentile scores
  • Shareable portrait cards and visualizations
  • Career match scores, skills analysis, and recruiter insights
  • Downloadable Smart CV PDFs and Career Kit tools (Premium tier only)

Service Tiers

Free Tier (The Spark)

Includes: career archetype, DNA snapshot, top percentile score, 2 trait insights, narrative opening, and shareable portrait card. No payment required.

Pro Tier ($9.99 USD one-time)

Unlocks: all 3 percentile insights, Recruiter's Take, full AI narrative, 3 career matches with scores, skills gap analysis + trending skills, and downloadable portrait cards (landscape + square).

Premium Tier ($24.99 USD one-time)

Unlocks: Everything in Pro, plus a career brand page (/p/your-name), Smart CV PDF download, interview prep, salary benchmark, Leadership DNA analysis, culture fit matrix, blind spots + action plan, and growth edge recommendations.

User Responsibilities

You agree to:

  • Only upload CVs/resumes that you own or have permission to use
  • Provide accurate information (the quality of AI analysis depends on input quality)
  • Not use the Service to upload false, defamatory, or illegal content
  • Keep your session link private (anyone with the link can access your portrait)
  • Comply with all applicable laws and regulations

Payment Terms

For Pro and Premium tiers:

  • Pricing: Pro is $9.99 USD. Premium is $24.99 USD. One-time payment. No subscription.
  • Processing: Payments are processed via ePayco. We do not store your payment details.
  • Currency: All prices are in USD. Your bank may apply currency conversion fees.
  • Refunds: We offer a 30-day money-back guarantee if you are not satisfied with the AI analysis. Contact us at support@careerportrait.co to request a refund. Refunds are not available if you have downloaded the Smart CV or used Premium tools extensively.

Intellectual Property

Our IP

Career Portrait owns all rights to the Service, including the website, AI models, algorithms, design, and branding. You may not copy, modify, or reverse-engineer any part of the Service.

Your Content

You retain ownership of your CV data and any content you upload. By using the Service, you grant us a limited license to process your data to generate your Career Portrait.

License to Use

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use your generated Career Portrait for personal or professional purposes (e.g., sharing on LinkedIn, including in job applications). You may not resell or commercially exploit the generated content.

AI-Generated Content Disclaimer

Career Portrait uses AI to analyze your career data. While we strive for accuracy:

  • The analysis is NOT professional career advice, legal advice, or a guarantee of job placement
  • AI-generated insights (archetype, narrative, etc.) are subjective interpretations
  • We do not guarantee the accuracy, completeness, or usefulness of the analysis
  • You should independently verify any recommendations or insights before acting on them

Prohibited Uses

  • Uploading false, misleading, or fraudulent career information
  • Uploading third-party CVs without permission
  • Scraping, data mining, or automated data collection
  • Reverse-engineering the AI models or algorithms
  • Reselling or white-labeling the Service
  • Interfering with or disrupting the Service's infrastructure

Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to the Service at any time, without notice, for violating these Terms or for any other reason. You may stop using the Service at any time. Your portrait data will remain accessible unless you request deletion.

Limitation of Liability

TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, CAREER PORTRAIT SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, OR OPPORTUNITIES, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATED TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICE. OUR TOTAL LIABILITY SHALL NOT EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID US IN THE PAST 12 MONTHS (OR $100 USD IF GREATER).

Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless Career Portrait, its affiliates, and its service providers from any claims, damages, or expenses (including legal fees) arising from your use of the Service, your violation of these Terms, or your infringement of any third-party rights.

Changes to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. We will notify you of material changes by updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the State of California, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes shall be resolved in the courts of San Francisco County, California.
